Since 1989, Mental Health America of Fort Bend County (MHAFBC) has been serving the mental health community through education, connection, advocacy, and working to reduce the stigma of mental illness. We accomplish our mission through:
This guide is widely used in the community to help individuals locate resources to meet their mental health needs. We are also available to answer questions about resources by phone for more individualized attention.
These workshops are intended for mental health professional and the general public. MHAFBC features a wide varied of mental health topics presented by highly regarded speakers in our community.
We provide confidential, online screenings for Depression, Anxiety, Eating Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, and Alcohol Dependency.
The staff and volunteers of MHAFBC spread awareness of mental illness and provide information on mental conditions and wellness at health fairs, businesses, churches, social organizations, schools, and social groups.
NEW! Mental Health First Aid
Learning how to respond to someone experiencing a mental health crisis is just as important as knowing what to do when someone is having a physical health problem. Learn how to recognize the signs and symptoms of someone going through a mental health crisis and how you can respond effectively and with compassionate. Our instructors will go out to your place of work or worship, non-profit organizations, schools, or any where else people are gathered and want to learn these skills.
